OPEN BID TO NATIONALS SECURED!
Metro 15 Travel had a GREAT showing at the Big South Qualifier in Atlanta, Georgia. 15 Travel finished 4th with a record of 6-3.
Tournament recap:
Friday - went 3-0 defeating Game Point (2-0), Tsunami (2-0) and Houston Juniors (2-0). Advanced to the top half of the tournament (top 18 teams).
Saturday - went 1-1 defeating NC Academy 15 Diamond (2-0) and losing a close match to Wave 15 Juliana (1-2). Advanced to the Gold Pools (top 12 in the tournament).
Sunday - went 2-0 in Gold Pool defeating Houston Skyline (2-0) and taking down the #1 seed & #1 on AES Madfrogs 15N Greeen in a 3 set thriller! By going 2-0 they advanced to the Gold Bracket of 4 teams and secured an OPEN bid to Nationals. After losing to Wave (0-2) and Dynasty (0-2) they finished 4th overall taking home their OPEN bid to Nationals!
2021 CHRVA 15 Open Regional Champions!
On March 20th, Metro 15 Travel became the CHRVA 15 Open Regional Champions and punched their ticket to the Girls Junior Nationals in Las Vegas playing in the National Division.
15 Travel went 5-0 and didn't drop a set all day.
15 Travel still has 2 more Qualifiers (Big South & NEQ) to compete in and work toward upgrading their National bid to an Open bid.
*This season as a club Metro won the CHRVA region in 13s, 14s, 15s & 16s divisions. [17s & 18s did not participate in regionals because they had already secured an Open bid before regionals was played). So at this time all 6 Metro Travel teams have qualified for Nationals!
