VJ is a former Division-III volleyball player from the University of Scranton, where she was a three-year starter at Outside Hitter and a two-year captain. She went on to play USAV and competitive Women’s and Co-Ed Doubles at the AA/Open level for six seasons. Aside from coaching volleyball, VJ spent 12 years successfully training, competing, and coaching equestrian athletes in multiple disciplines.
Coach VJ is a licensed psychologist with specialized expertise in sport psychology and is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Stevenson University. As part of her work as a consultant, she has worked with individual athletes, teams, and athletic programs to help them achieve their full potential both in and out of the athletic arena. She regularly uses sport psychology principles in her coaching of young athletes to help them develop the mental skills needed to complement their physical skills and achieve their full potential both on and off the court.
