Zaronda Watson- 18 East Head Coach 2025

Coach Z enters her 9th season coaching, joining Metro in 2016, and has coached the 12s, 16s, and 18s age groups in the South region and 18s in the East region. She has held several high school volleyball coaching positions such as Dover High School JV Head coach in 2009, Falls Church High School Freshman Head coach in 2014, Falls Church High School Varsity Assistant coach from 2015 - 2016, and Falls Church High School JV Assistant coach in 2017. Coach Z has previously coached at a local DII University in Maryland.

Coach Z earned her BA in Advertising and MS in Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern Mississippi. She is currently working for the Federal Government as a Financial Management Specialist in D.C.

"Coaching with Metro makes me both look fondly at the past and excitedly towards the future!"

Coach Alicia returns to Metro for her 4th season, having coached 15s, 16s, and 18s age groups for the East region. Coach Alicia played Division II volleyball at Edinboro University, where she started as a setter for five seasons. She helped lead her team to the Division II National Championship Tournament and earned All-Conference and AVCA Region honors during her time at Edinboro University. Coach Alicia is also a Metro Alum, having played for the Metro 16, 17, and 18 Travel teams in high school. Coach Alicia is currently earning her dual Doctorate of Physical Therapy and PhD at University of Maryland, Baltimore- School of Medicine.

"This will be my 7th year coaching with Metro and I'm excited to see what this season will bring!"​​​​​​​

Ravyn is excited to be entering her 7th year with Metro. She was previously the head coach for 16 East, 15 East and 14 East, but this year she will be returning to lead our 16 East team again! Ravyn completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine at Hampton University in December 2018, where she played as an OH for the Division I volleyball team. She is currently studying for her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University and is the Head Coach of Wilde Lake High School's Varsity Volleyball Team. She began her coaching career as the head coach for Coastal Hampton Roads VBC 16 State team in 2017. She was the Head Coach of both the Boys’ Varsity and Girls’ Varsity Volleyball teams at Phoebus High School in Hampton, VA. From 2019 to 2021 she served as both Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Elizabeth Seton High School.​​​​​​​

Rayah returns to Metro for her 2nd year coaching, however, her involvement with Metro goes back further.  She played for the club for 9 years, which shaped her understanding of the game and commitment to excellence.  Rayah continued my volleyball journey at the collegiate level, playing for 2 years at Alliance University and 1 year at Bowie State University.  

Her playing experience, combined with my passion for developing young athletes, drives my coaching philosophy of skill development, teamwork, and mental resilience.

"Ready for Year 2 of not only coaching athletes; but helping build confidence, resilience, and a mindset for success!"

Coach Jazz returns to Metro for her second season.  Previously, she coached Metro 14 East and is looking forward to moving up to 15s this season.

Jazz has over 8+ years of ahead coaching experience at the high school level in Charles County MD as well as 3 years at the club level.   She has also played Division 1 collegiate volleyball as a Middle blocker for North Carolina Central University.

Jazz currently works in DC as an auditor as well as a personal trainer. She enjoys helping athletes reach their goals.

"I’m genuinely excited about the upcoming season and eager to help our athletes grow, improve, and leave the season better than they began. Here’s to a fantastic season ahead!"

Jaz returns to Metro for her fourth season as the 15 East Assistant.  She joined Metro in 2021 season as the 12 East Assistant.  She helped lead the team to several medal finishes.  In addition to club coaching, she is the assistant varsity coach at Elizabeth Seton High School.

A Metro alumni, Jaz played on the East starting at 14U and played all the way through 18U.  She is currently pursuing her degree in Business as a full time student.

"I love coaching with metro - it’s a true FAMILY. My mission is to inspire athletes to push their limits, embrace challenges, and grow not just as players but as leaders on and off the court."

Jojo returns to Metro for her second year coaching 14 East. She has coached both club volleyball and high school teams and is also a primary trainer. Coach Jojo enjoys working with athletes and she is eager to grow game of volleyball in the community.

"I am excited for my first season with Metro, fundamentals, passion, and heart that's all you need to start."

Amanda played Division II volleyball at Bowie State University, she later graduated from Towson University. She has 2 seasons of club level coaching experience, and is the JV volleyball coach at Wilde Lake High School. Outside of volleyball, Amanda is in graduate school pursuing a Master's degree in Nursing. She is very excited to be coaching at Metro.

"I am excited to continue empowering young athletes through the sport of volleyball, helping them grow both on & off the court."

Jasmin is entering her second season with Metro as the 13s East Head Coach. Last season, she took on the 16s East Assistant role. She graduated with her degree in Business Marketing from Morgan State University where she played D1 volleyball as a middle blocker. She continued her athletic collegiate career at East Stroudsburg University where she obtained her Master’s in Management and Leadership. She developed her passion for coaching after running and assisting various volleyball camps and skills clinics throughout her career as an athlete. 

Jasmin is the current Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Elizabeth Seton High School.

Melanie Battle - 13 East Assistant Coach 2025

"I am very excited to begin my first season with Metro. I look forward to growing as a coach and sharing my love and knowledge of volleyball with the players!"

Melanie played Division I volleyball at Morgan State University where she was a middle blocker for the Lady Bears during the 2019-2022 seasons. She graduated from Morgan State in May 2023 with a B.S. in Multimedia Journalism. While in school, she coached at summer camps in Baltimore and clinics hosted by her former college coach. Melanie recently joined the coaching staff at St. Charles High School as the assistant varsity volleyball coach in July 2024. She is very excited to join the Metro East coaching staff this season.


Trevor Reaves - 12 East Head Coach - 2025

"I am excited about building the foundation for future volleyball stars!"

Coach Trevor is in his sixth season as a coach and with Metro. He is returning for his fourth year as the Head Coach of 12 East. Previously, he served as the 14 South Fairfax Assistant Coach & 15 East Assistant Coach.

He has played volleyball competitively for 12 years. Coach Trevor is excited to continue helping young players develop the proper foundation to excel at the game of volleyball and in life. He competes in a local DC Volleyball League and plays in nationally sanctioned tournaments across the country, where he has earned top 3 team finishes and tournament all-star selections. 

Trevor earned his B.A. in Sociology & Criminal Justice and A.A. in Counseling Education from The University of Florida. He received his J.D. at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

"This is my first year with metro, I am looking for to watching these athletes grow their skills and confidence!"

Gabriella is currently a sophomore attending Bowie State University. Originally, from the state of Michigan where she started her coaching career as a head coach for a 13U team. She has coached clinics at several colleges and many high schools. She looks forward to passing along her love for coaching and enjoy helping athletes build their skill set while watching their confidence grow!
