“I really excited to begin a new club season with Metro-North.  Last season our 18 North team earned a bid to USAV Nationals.  This is yet another first for Metro!  We have ten players from that team who have gone on to play at the next level.  Again this year we have a great coaching staff in the North with a few new faces.  I am eager to start the club season and continue to grow the game of volleyball and develop young athletes in the north.”

Jerry Burge will be the Head Coach for our 18 North team, the Rec League Director, and North Director this season.  He will be starting his 9th season coaching with Metro. Jerry comes with many years of coaching experience including former head coach and assistant coach at Frederick Community College and Head Varsity coach at St. John’s at Prospect Hall.  In addition, Jerry is in his second year as the head varsity coach at Urbana High School.

Jerry competed with the Western Maryland College Club Volleyball team as a setter and team captain.  He also competed for several years through USAV Chesapeake Region Men’s Volleyball teams as a setter and libero. 

Jerry is the father of six beautiful young ladies.  He graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with an MBA in Business Administration and is currently a Clinical Project Manager at Leidos Biomedical Research Inc.
