Assist. Coach 2020

Craig Zdaniewicz - 15 Central Assistant Coach - 2020

“I am excited to be a part of the DC Metro team! As a new assistant coach, I look forward to supporting our athletes in achieving their goals and encourage their leadership development both on and off the court. While I may be new to the coaching scene, the positive energy and dedication to the sport is what I am committed to bring everyday and why i’m so honored to grow with the DC metro volleyball family.”

Craig started his first season as a Junior Varsity coach for the South Lakes volleyball program in the fall 2019 season. A three sport varsity athlete in baseball, wrestling and football at Kittatinny Regional High School in New Jersey, he gained volleyball exposure playing collegiately at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned libero honors from the New England Club Volleyball League and national honors in the D1AA club finals. He went on to play as a defensive specialist for the All-Army program in 2016 and 2017 where they competed in the AA division at USAV nationals. The team took silver in the All-Armed forces category beating the All-Navy program. In 2018, he took second playing grass doubles in the Men’s A division at Susquehanna Smash and continues to play any chance he can get on the court.

Craig spent nearly 11 active duty years in the Army as an engineer. He transitioned from his role as a Major to his current work under the Department of Justice as a portfolio manager for construction projects.

Between Craig’s passion for volleyball, dedication to staying healthy, worldly adventures and keeping a good life balance, he keeps it all in perspective with the love and support of his family and friends.
