Metro VBC Kirsten Higareda - 14 Travel Assistant Coach - 2018

This is Kirsten’s second year with the Metro 14 Travel team. She began her volleyball career at Forest Park High School (2005-2008) in Woodbridge, VA where, her senior year, she was First Team All-Met, All-Region, All-District, All-Area, and Second Team All-State.  Her team made trips to the VA State Tournament in her Junior and Senior seasons and won two Regional and three District championships during her three years on the varsity team.  She ended her high school career with two school records.

Kirsten went on to play for Virginia Tech (2008-2011) as a defensive specialist/libero.  She helped the Hokies to their first ever berth and only win in the NCAA Tournament to date.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Classical Studies.

She has continued to stay involved in the volleyball community in the area playing for her adult USAV team, District, as well as earning a spot on the CHRVA women’s premier volleyball team, Rising Tide.

Kirsten is currently working as a Paralegal in Washington, DC.
