Head Coach 2018

Claudia Lapcevich - 14 North Head Coach - 2018

Metro VBC Claudia Lapcevich - 14 North Head Coach - 2018
“I’m blessed to have yet another opportunity to coach in the North region! The experience of working with these young ladies and their families has been immensely rewarding, not only in the area of skill development, but more importantly from a character building perspective.  It has also been amazing to watch the talent pool blossom over the last 12 years!  I am incredibly excited to see what the 2017-18 season has in store for our 14 North Warriors and our club overall.”

Coach Laps has coached for 11 years with Metro Volleyball Club, where she has worked with the 16s, 15s, 14s, 13s and 10s age groups in the North region. Coach Laps was the Head Varsity Volleyball coach at Urbana HS in Frederick County from 2005-2011 (MD State Semifinalists, 2009), Assistant Varsity Volleyball coach at The Academy of the Holy Cross (Kensington, MD) from 2012-2014 (WCAC champions, 2012-2014), and Head Volleyball coach at Washington Christian Academy (Olney, MD) from 2015-2016.  This season she has transitioned into officiating Frederick County HS volleyball and is enjoying seeing many of her Metro alumni on the court!

Claudia earned a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech, where she played club volleyball all 4 years, and still competes in USA Volleyball in the women's division, as well as local rec programs and grass tournaments. She is IMPACT certified, Gold Medal Squared trained and proud to be a 3-Dimensional Coach trained by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), coaching FCA Power Camps in Frederick County, MD and Kutztown, PA, as well as character coaching for sports teams in Frederick County.

When she is not coaching volleyball, Claudia is a Senior Sales Specialist with Thermo Fisher Scientific, an avid triathlete/cyclist and cook, and a catechist for St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church.  She is married to Randy and a proud mother of two: Stefan (Catholic University of America, BS in Mech Eng, class of 2017) and Cassie (Junior at Duquesne University)!
