Katie is entering her second season as head coach for Metro East's 12U team and her third season coaching for Metro. During her first season as head coach, her team went on to win the silver division at the Capitol Hill Classic, and placed in the gold bracket in every other tournament. In addition to the focus on fundamentals, communication, and technique, Coach Katie strives to ensure that each player is learning the proper attitude and spirit that it takes to be a team player.
Katie currently resides in DC, but grew up playing at a local Maryland club. After high school, she went on to play four years at Gettysburg College where she was team captain and earned first team all conference accolades as a libero.
During her years at Gettysburg College, Katie received her B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish. After Gettysburg, she went on to receive her Masters in Engineering in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Maryland. She served one year as one of the UMD's volleyball team managers, where she met and connected with many of the fellow Metro coaches.
